Assumptions - Becoming a Mom

Before I became a mother I would notice mothers everywhere interacting with their children, at the grocery store, in the library, etc. I used to think “they are so lucky to have children…” and I would make automatic assumptions about their life (being jealous of course that they had little ones to care for).

Years after becoming a mother I really try making fewer assumptions about the mothers I see and I wonder about their story and how they became mothers
(if they love it, if they have a hard time, if they feel guilty about not spending enough time with their children, if they lose their temper, if they enjoy the little things about their children, if their children are adopted, if they are step-parents, single-parents, etc).

Now as I rush around with my children I wonder if any other women make the correct assumption about me ~

“she is so lucky to be a mom!”

  1. Camille,
I have always admired you and looked at you in awe.... You are beautiful inside and out! You handle motherhood with grace, Often I feel so overwhelmed and wonder how women do it, I have really good days and really hard days, but after reading your beautiful story, my heart is softened and with tears running down my cheeks, I am so grateful for what I have. I use to say Motherhood was the easiest most natrual thing I could do. I love being a mom, though hard at times it is also rewarding, I look at my children now asleep, and am reminded of how blessed I am. Thank you for sharing your blog with me you are amazing and very blessed! Your family is amazing!
