Open Invitation - Poll

As many of you know, I have decided to go “private” with my blog. I am leaving it open for a few days so any of you who would like an invite, please e-mail me at camhenrie@gmail.com and I will be happy to add you to the list!

My other option(s) would be:

Change some of the personal information about my children so they wouldn’t be as accessible for the entire world to see (and leave my blog open).

Not worry about what other people think. Hah!

What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know! Thanks!

  1. I am partial to the second option but knowing that there are stupid people in the world, regardless of whether they should know better and do better, they can be unscrupulous. So, then in your situation it may be a better choice to go with the first option of privacy. I have loved your blog and would love an invite. I think you do a great job and definitely should never worry what others think!!!

  2. I have been reading your blog for a while (found through "or so she says") but have never left a comment. You have a beautiful, rare story and I'm glad you have blogged about it. I think you should leave your blog open so that others can see what a great thing adoption is and maybe help others who are in the same situation. With all the negative feelings about adoption, it is good to have some positive.

I think people are more likely to say mean things over a typed email/comment then they are in real life because they are not face to face with that person and don't have to see the expression on their face. People say mean and hateful things to others that they are envious of because they are really unhappy with their own life.

You are a good mother and you do your best. Your feelings are what all mothers go through (adoptive or bio) "am I doing this right?, am I going to mess my kids up for life?" You just have to trust that God will guide you and your decisions in the right way.

Good luck with whatever option you choose. I would love to continue reading.

  4. I love reading your blog... I understand the need for privacy, but we just adopted a little girl 3 weeks ago and following your story helped me through the ups and down of the process! If you do go private I would love to be added!

  6. I agree with the others. Your story is inspiring. And very informative as to the process of adoption (which I know very little about). It helps me understand more of something I would otherwise be clueless about still. I enjoy reading and would also love be added if you choose to go private! Good luck!

  7. Camille, I'm Brody Bairds mom. I love your blog and have followed it since your adoption story. I too have an adoption story so I was interested to see how others in my shoes have walked. I told Brody to get me your phone number so we could chat. If you go private or not keep writting because you help others out there with your faith and courage. You are a great MOM!!Add me if you can,I want to hear the rest of the story. Love, Jo

  8. Camille, I'm glad I stumbled onto your blog through "Or So She Says." I have gotten a lot from reading your story and I know others have also. This won't happen to any "new-comers" if you go private. But we can't all save the world in one big blog! ;) You have to think of your family first. If you don't take care of them, nothing else that you do will really matter. You would have to change A LOT of information in this blog to keep your kid's identities and lives private. If you want to share this with the world, that might be worth the effort required. I think you have already done a lot of good with this blog and I don't think you should let anyone convince you not to private if that's what you choose.
    Best wishes.

  10. I think it would be helpful if you answered some questions like;

Why did the birth mother keep having children for them to be adopted? and why couldn't she look after them herself?

  11. Dear Anonymous:
I am not the person to answer the questions you asked. My answers would only be assumptions. My children's birth mother is the only one who can correctly answer your questions.

**If would be helpful if you left a name and email so I could correctly address your questions (to the best of my ability) on a not so open forum. :)
